Year 6 recently took part in an engaging and thought-provoking workshop led by magistrates from the local community. The session provided a valuable insight into how the justice system works, helping pupils to understand the important role magistrates play in deciding cases and determining appropriate consequences.

During the workshop, pupils explored how laws relate to school rules, discussing why they are essential for keeping people safe and ensuring fairness. They showed great maturity when considering how rules help guide behaviour both in and out of school.

A particular highlight of the session was a mock trial focused on social media use. Pupils examined evidence, discussed different viewpoints and carefully considered the outcomes of online actions. This activity helped to reinforce the importance of responsibility and respect in the digital world.

The workshop was an excellent opportunity for Year 6 to develop their understanding of citizenship and the wider world, and they represented the school brilliantly throughout.
