Supporting Wellbeing and Exam Readiness in Year 6

Year 6 pupils recently took part in a mindfulness yoga session as part of their ongoing preparation for upcoming SATS assessments. The session was carefully designed to support pupils’ mental and emotional wellbeing at what can be a demanding time in the school year.
During the session, pupils were encouraged to slow down, focus on their breathing and become more aware of how their bodies respond to stress. Through a series of gentle movements and calming techniques, they explored practical strategies to help them relax, refocus and manage feelings of pressure more effectively.
A strong emphasis was placed on wellbeing, resilience and self‑care, helping pupils to understand the importance of looking after both their minds and bodies. The session provided valuable tools that pupils can use in the classroom and beyond, supporting them to feel calmer, more confident and better prepared to approach their learning with a positive and balanced mindset.
