Year 6 Road Safety Workshop: Preparing for the Journey Ahead

This week, Year 6 pupils took part in an informative and engaging road safety workshop, organised by Warrington Borough Council. The session was specifically designed for children who are preparing to transition to high school, where increased independence often means travelling to and from school without adult supervision.
The workshop aimed to raise awareness of the potential risks children may face on their journeys and provided practical advice on how to stay safe. Pupils learned about key road safety principles, including how to cross roads safely, the importance of being alert near traffic, and how to make sensible decisions when travelling alone or with friends.
As pupils prepare for this exciting next chapter in their education, the workshop served as a timely reminder of the responsibilities that come with greater independence. The school would like to thank Warrington Borough Council for delivering such a valuable session and helping to equip our Year 6 pupils with the knowledge and confidence they need to stay safe.
