It’s been a wonderfully hands-on week for Year 5, filled with curiosity, collaboration, and creativity. In Science, pupils investigated the process of sieving as part of their topic on separating materials. Working in small groups, they explored how mixtures can be separated using different techniques, developing both their scientific thinking and teamwork skills.

Meanwhile, in History, Year 5 have continued their journey into the captivating world of the Vikings. This week’s focus was on the importance of trade to Viking society. Pupils examined how the Vikings travelled across the seas to exchange goods, and learned about the key trade routes that connected different parts of Europe. To bring this learning to life, the class worked together to design and create their own board games based on one of the Viking trade routes. The activity sparked plenty of discussion, strategic thinking, and impressive cooperation.

Well done to Year 5 for showing such enthusiasm and teamwork across both subjects – a brilliant week of learning!
