Year 4 Takes Learning Outdoors for Science Exploration
Year 4 students had a fantastic opportunity to take their learning outside the classroom this week, making the most of the sunny weather. The class headed outdoors to collect data on a variety of living things found around the school grounds.
The students worked in teams to observe and record information about vertebrates and invertebrates, as well as flowering and non-flowering plants. They carefully examined the different creatures and plants, noting their characteristics and classifying them according to what they had learned in their science lessons.
It was a hands-on way to explore the natural world, and the children loved being able to put their scientific knowledge to the test in real-life settings. Not only did they gather important data for their studies, but they also enjoyed the fresh air and the chance to observe nature up close.
The outdoor learning session was a great success, and Year 4 are excited to continue their scientific explorations in the classroom and beyond!
