This week, the Reception children have been busy learning about and celebrating Chinese New Year! It’s been a week full of fun activities, where the children explored the rich traditions and customs of this exciting celebration.

One of the highlights was the opportunity to practise using chopsticks in our very own Chinese restaurant, set up in the home corner. The children enjoyed working on their fine motor skills while pretending to be chefs and customers, serving and eating delicious food. Speaking of food, the children had the chance to try some tasty treats, tasting different dishes and discovering new flavours, all while learning about the importance of food during Chinese New Year celebrations.

It’s been a wonderful experience for the children to immerse themselves in such a vibrant and culturally rich celebration, and they’ve gained a lot of new knowledge and skills along the way. What a fantastic way to start the year!
